-Badshot Lea Win-
Badshot L 2 - 1 Rye U
Today saw the first qualifying preliminary round of the FA Vase at Farnborough FC (the ground they share with Badshot Lea). Rye United the current league leaders started the game very well dispite having to play a changed side with their top scorer (Duncan McArthur) sidelined with a back injury.
The first half was evenly shared and was goaless at the interval with both teams giving 100%. In the second half it seemed to go against the visiters who were extremely unlucky playing the off side trap and before they knew it they were trailing 2-0.
However the Quarterboys showed why they have an unbeaten record in the league this term even when behind and they never gave up. It looked promising in the 77th minute when Danny Ellis got one back but it was not to be.
Now Rye must pull themselves back from this unfortunate loss and focus on next Saturdays game against Worthing United as the winner will be top. Worthing will be in good spirit after progressing today in the cup with a 2-0 win at home to Haywards Heath Town so Rye MUST be on top of their game and grab all three points with both hands.
