-Rye United Win-

Storrington 1 - 3 Rye U

Storry scored from the K.O which rattled Rye only for the Rye crossbar to be rattled a minute later. Jon Gardner found himself having to save Rye from another score from a 1 on 1 situation as the Rye defence asked for offside in vain.

It took the 8th minute for Ryes 1st effort at goal by Tuppeny whos viscous curler on (10)mins had the keeper scrambling the ball landing safely on the roof of the net. (13) Sam Cole pressed the defence and they panicked into giving away a needless corner.

Cole was then rewarded when he headed in the resulting Kick. Ginge headed over from Tuppers cross who in turn dragged a shot wide on 25 mins. McArthur swung in a cross which ginge met this time with a diving header that went feet wide Cruttenden (30) crossed for Leachs header to be stopped by the keeper who gatherd on the 2nd attempt (34) Storry had a shot which Gardner gathered in, their first reply since their early barrage in the first 5 minutes (38) Ginge gets a free kick that Mcarthur hooked at goal only to see it pushed wide by the keeper.

Second half - A Leach effort screwed wide past their sprawled keeper (55) Gardner called into action but Rye passed the ball up to Leach who had another effort saved. Storry replied with a shot that dipped just over goal with Gardner on the edge of the area after a mix up in defence (59) Garmo wins a free kick that resulted in Sam Cole off balance firing well over.

Subs on Luke,Garmo and Dom Clarke who headed home with his first touch Replacing Ginge, Ricky Martin and Cruttenden. Storry headed over from a free kick from a rash challenge but this was the closest they were going to get to score, (76) Lofty gets a yellow for a foul and their 11 gets a yellow and was withdrawn by their bench.

Storry lost any chance of a draw with a wasted free kick going straight out. Leach who waas busy all game tested their keeper again who saved well. (90)a ball lofted up in the air over the penalty spot swirled in the wind and after a Storry head made it go further up in the air, it bounced onto a Storry hand.

McArthur put the shot away but the keeper who played well all game was unlucky not to save even if the points were already in the bag for Rye.
