Little Common 2-3 Rye U

First half and Rye turned the heat up on second placed Worthing scoring on 7 mins when Sam Cole scored converting Danny Leachs cross with a spinning shot , Rye then had several chances to add to the scoreline and Little Common hardly caused any danger. That was until the 38 th minute when Gardner had to make an excellent double save and the Commoners should have scored as the second attempt he actually picked his spot.

Second half and Leach managed to chase down a defender whos wayward backpass to keeper went out for a corner. Paul Watson's corner was headed across goal by Ramsey and the ball going wide landed nicely for Leach to back heel from 3 yards on 51 mins.

Game over so you would have thought but Rye fell into old habits and LC got 2 goals back 66 and 71 mins. The first well taken volley and the second was from a ball not dealt with by any Rye player leaving Gardner stranded at the dege of the area.
LC now looking for 3 points as Rye seemed to sit back, However the decider came on 98 mins when Loft was felled by the injured keeper for a RYe penalty. Macca stepped up and duly converted but was asked to retake for encroachment. Macca drove the ball upwards under the cross bar and Rye got all the points. LC will complain they deserved something from the game but we dont care as Rye subject to the piece of paper are now in a promotion position.
