On a very hot and sunny afternoon Loxwood were Tamed without too much troubling the Rye goal. Within the first 10 mins Tuppenny and McArthur both firing high and wide of the goal. 12 mins and Danny Leech struck home but his turn and shot from 8 yds was ruled marginally offside.
On 34 mins Tuppenny ran across the edge of the area drawing a foul.Duncan claimed the ball and from just outside the area curled one off the post and in. five minutes later Dom Cruttenden let loose a blaster which struck the same left post, but went behind the keeper and across goal but was cleared out to safety.
Half time came with Rye wondering how they hadnt scored a couple more,Although I thought their number no 4 was their best player. Loxwood had managed 2 shots one on target. A good display from Rye especially our young keeper. 52 minute Cruttenden plying on the left crossed for Leech to slide at the far post and the ball went wide.
The next chance was a header from Danny Leech from a cross curled in from Macarthur. Only one minute later Sub Dom Clarke flashed the ball wide across goal with keeper rooted to the spot. 70 mins and the Rye midfield dropped off and Loxwood were able to sniff about the Rye defence. 74 mins again it was Rye this time a goal bound shot from Lofty was blocked by their defence. Next Macarthur stung the keepers hands.
In the last 10 and Ginge got a yellow, Lofty blocked a shot from Loxwood and sub Andy Garman hit 2 on the break.
